Our history
At Ena Shaw Contract we have a long tradition of manufacturing, with roots dating back to 1933 when the grandmother of the present MD opened her first store in St Helens, Merseyside. The business carries her name today, Ena Shaw Ltd.
The department store that grew from that original site is still trading today, offering a wide range of home products.
From this retail foundation came the need to manufacture soft furnishings, initially on site, but with sales increasing, the manufacturing arm of the business moved into new purpose built headquarters at Eurolink, St Helens in 1996.
As we developed our manufacturing we attracted many of the high street's largest retailers. We are still key strategic suppliers to retails such as Next, Debenhams, Heals and BhS, as well as an array of other independent retailers.
Following a period of heavy investment in the latest computerised manufacturing systems, in 1999 we launched our ground-breaking, rapid response, custom made curtain offer under our "Curtain Express" brand. Since then we have been the market leader in fast turnaround custom made manufacturing.
In 2003 we opened our blinds manufacturing division which has grown steadily ever since.
